The 16th annual Todd Summer Concert Series is set to begin June 15. We have an exciting lineup again this year and we hope to see you at a concert. Here is a link to the 2019 concert schedule http://toddnc.org/events-activities/summer-concerts/.
Happily, the concerts continue to grow in popularity. Our average attendance per concert last year was approximately 300 people. However, it takes a lot to put on a free concert series each year both in terms of money and volunteers. The Todd Community Preservation Organization (TCPO) would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have contributed financially, as a volunteer or other supporter to make the concerts, and all TCPO initiatives, a reality.
A special thanks goes out to our corporate sponsors. Without their sponsorships, we would not be able to continue the high caliber of music or offer the concerts for free. This year our Title Sponsor is Mountain Tile, located in Boone, NC. Owners David and Trudy Shell live in Todd and are long-time supporters of the concert series.
Individual Concert Sponsors for 2019, most of whom are also long-term sponsors as well, are:

This year the TCPO is extremely grateful to have received a matching grant from the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area Partnership (BRNHA) to make improvements to Cook Memorial Park where the concerts are held. The BRNHA makes grants available every two years to organizations across western NC that support specific mountain heritage programs, such as heritage music. You can learn more about the BRNHA and their important work here.
Some of the projects supported by the grant and the contributions that the TCPO is required to contribute as a one-to-one match to grant funds include renovations of the structures in the park, grounds improvements, a new sound system, a new grill, a children’s dance floor, improved access to the stage and pavilion, and Wifi. You may have already noticed some changes taking place as we’re busy getting ready for the first concert.
