YouTHFUL talent meets old time music!

Strictly Strings is an exciting group full of lots of energy and talent. They play mostly old time music but perform other types of music as well, such as bluegrass and Celtic tunes. Music lovers will enjoy watching them perform and marvel at their abilities.

Strictly Strings is a Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM) Program success story. They stemmed out of the JAM program in Boone, North Carolina, as students of Cecil Gurganus, a Todd resident who also plays in the group. JAM offers children of all ages an opportunity to learn traditional mountain music and find connections with other musicians.

It is no understatement that Strictly Strings is actively involved in the music community. Earlier this summer the band performed at Merle Fest 2016 and in Charlottesville, VA, for a week-long tour. These are in addition to their local high country gigs.

On Saturday June 25th, Strictly Strings will be in Todd. That’s right! Strictly Strings is a part of the TCPO Summer Concert Series this summer in Cook Park, Downtown Todd. The band enjoys the time they get to play in Todd because it is a fun, relaxing environment that’s close to home. We hope you come on out and join the fun, too!
